At Fleurdelys (usually spelled fleur de
lys or
lilly flower), you will find a good variety of
pastries made by a chef trained in France.
Fleurdelys offers traditional French
pastries like clairs, opra, or cream puffs
(here containing both whipped cream and
fresh strawberries), and also their own
varieties of French-style pastries,
sometimes with a North American flavour.
The Europa for example consists of a
brownie base supporting layers of dark,
milk and white chocolate mousses, topped
with a thin chocolate layer. Another creation
is
made of layers of chocolate cake and
chocolate-pumpkin mousse. The cakes are
rich and fresh, and both taste and quality
are very good. The brioches parisiennes are
delicious as well.
Fleurdelys also makes a variety of tarts
(lemon curd,
fruit, apple-almond, date, blueberry-riccota
cheese), croissants,
danishes, and carries Ace Bakery breads.

Fleurdelys is closed! There's a sign in the window; they closed in April 2007.

They have terrific quiches, as well.
