 Thobors Boulangerie Patisserie Caf�
Thobors is one our our favourite French bakeries (and indeed, gourmet shop in general) in
Toronto. The selection of products is very wide (breads, morning pastries, French pastries,
cakes, quiches,
sandwiches, and chocolates) but thanks to a constant flow of customers, everything is always
fresh.
The morning pastries are all some of the best in town, and include hard-to-find items
like Parisian doughnuts (deliciously yeasty - very different from the Tim garden variety)
madeleines, financiers (little soft and buttery almond cakes) or chaussons aux pommes (apple
puff pastry turnovers). It's hard to choose, every time.
Cakes and pastries are mostly mousse-based, with delicious associations of fruity and nutty
flavours.
Breads are very French - baguettes, country breads and whole wheat loaves are all there,
fresh and
flavourful.
On the savoury side - quiches, sandwiches, open face sandwiches, omelettes... again fresh
homemade and tasty.
