Recently opened (spring 2005) in the Saint-Lawrence / Old Town area, Solferino makes an already yummy neighbourhood even yummier! About 20 different ice cream flavours, mostly fruit- based, are on display: from the classic flavours (vanilla, coconut, pineapple, lemon), to the unusual (mango, guava, blackberry, passion fruit, anise...) to the rare (lulo or guanabana -- two south-American fruits). The chocolate-date may sound attractive, but it's really chocolate ice cream with dates chunks; not quite what it sounds like.

Solferino ice creams are smooth and flavourful, and, at $4.25 for a medium size (with three flavours), the prices are in the reasonable for this quality.
